English Preparation Course for First-Year English (B.Ed.) Majors

From the 19th to the 31st of August 2023, the English Programme (B.Ed.) organised an English Preparation Course for the first-year students for the 2023 academic year. The course aimed to enhance and prepare the students’ English language skills before they embark on their Bachelor of Education Programme in English. The event featured the following speakers: 1) Mr Edwin Pietersma, who focused on improving reading skills through the use of context clues; 2) Mr Konstantinos Balis, who addressed speaking skills through interactive games centered on interviews and vocabulary; 3) Ms Luz Darantinao, who concentrated on listening skills by incorporating the concepts of world cultures and coming-of-age into the training; and 4) Mr Wayne Tolomia and Ms Ira Dwijiayani, who employed the present perfect continuous tense to develop listening, speaking, and reading skills. The organisers extend their gratitude to all the students for their active participation.
